Day 75
28th February 2022
Math’s with Dad

We came home from our weekend away to a beautiful clean house, and after we finished unloading our things, it was trashed again.
Tubs of wet clothes, sheets, toys & a second tub, full of food. (?)
I slept like a mummy in a tomb. I woke up pretty late and dashed out the door to work.
Liam stayed home with the kids and the mess and soldiered on.
If it was me, I would have done nothing and just let them watch TV all day, while I organised the house! 😂
But Liam got stuck into math’s and Lincoln finally finished decimals. That was such a big chapter!
Liam said they usually do a couple of hours of math’s.
At first, I thought this seemed like a lot but it’s working really well.
Longer sessions mean we don’t have to do math’s every day because a home school class is only 20-30 min & secondly they can do a deep dive into the subject which seems to make learning easier & faster! 👏👏

Library

After maths was lunch and then they went to one of our favourite places – the library!
Lincoln got a Japanese book called Splatoon.
Fun fact: Japanese books turn right to left!
When I asked Linc about it he said,
“The writing doesn’t go right to left but you read it right to left. So you start on the right side of the page and read right to left.” (?)
“Ok.” I said still a little confused.

Our little crafter loaned a book called, Rainy Day Activities and yes, she started right away. 😂

Fox Girl
Next, Mila worked on her book Fox Girl and added some cool illustrations.
(Every word they misspell in their writing gets added to their spelling list. It’s working really well).

Rainbow

It was so nice to come home. Even though there are piles of wet laundry everywhere, and no chance of them drying in this weather. 🙄
I made a quick pasta for dinner and when we saw a break in the rain, we took Pepe for a walk & saw a rainbow.
Oh, I have to tell you! When we got home and saw Pepe, he went bananas!!
We’ve never seen him so excited! He couldn’t contain himself!
He was jumping up & down on the spot. His tail slapped against his body as his wagging hit berserk mode.
He took off into the back yard and went zooming around and around and around leaping over things and ripping up the grass that was soft from the rain.
He finally calmed down long enough to come back to us and pressed the full weight of his body on me for a hug.
What a sweetheart.
I think we’re officially in his wolf pack. 😃😃😃
