Day 63
10th February 2022
Harry Potter

I remember trying to get Lincoln to read Harry Potter years ago, but he wasn’t interested at all. I didn’t get it.
Every kid in the world was reading Harry Potter!
Turns out, he just wasn’t ready. Or was too young maybe. At age 10, he is right into it.
So, Linc read aloud for 10 minutes and then Dad read another chapter of The Famous Five.
Steak Pancakes 😂

Ok, it’s not really a steak pancake.
But how much does it look like a steak?!! 😂
After reading, Mila made everyone pancakes. (We eat a lot of pancakes, I’m realising).
She wanted to make chocolate, vanilla and peppermint. (Ew)
All in the one pancake.
The results, a steak pancake!!
Liam said the kids loved it.

Maths
Next, it was maths.
Linc was playing the maths game Prodigy while Liam & Mila worked on angles.
First, they jumped around and then did angles on paper.
Way to go Dad!

After this, they swapped.
Mila played Prodigy & Linc learnt to multiply decimals.
YouTube, where would we be without you?!!
We usually go to Math Antics when we need to look something up. They explain things well and add some humour too.
After they figured it out, they did some sums in his workbook (no complaining either!!) and then Liam drew some harder ones.

The Appointment
When you home school, the kids tag along.
To everything.
So, when Liam had an appointment this morning that lasted 1 HOUR, the kids had to go with him.
I was so nervous for him, but you know what, they didn’t move or make a sound, the whole appointment!
They even had to wait in the waiting room.
When he came out, he said they were dead quiet, reading their books!
Mila also drew a picture. (I knew the mini whiteboards would come in handy! Sometimes wandering down the middle isle in Aldi isn’t a bad idea!)

Afterwards, they came home for lunch, and then they all went to the pool for a swim.
I don’t want to jinx it, but after 4 or 5 months of de schooling, they’re ready for structured learning!!
No more burn out! 👍
