Super Smoothie

Nutrient Powerhouse

We wake up to this smoothie almost every morning. The kids call this ‘mamas super smoothie’ and they made me put the recipe on the fridge. 🙂

It’s quick to make, you can easily take it with you and this recipe will fill you up until late morning.

It’s jam packed with nutrients as well!! 💪

The list below is what we had in the cupboard today, but if I have psyllium husk I’ll add a flat tsp, if I have greens powder, I’ll add a flat teaspoon of that too. Just load it up with whatever health products you have.

Ingredients

6-8 pieces of frozen banana

Soy milk (or milk of choice)

1/4 tsp of spirulina powder

1 heaped tsp hemp seed

1 heaped tsp cacao powder

1 tspn mushroom powder

2ml turkey tail mushroom (Do not add turkey tail if this smoothie is for children).

1 heaped tbsp peanut butter

1 squeeze of raw honey

Method

I make smoothies in a 650ml (23oz) Nutri Ninja blender. Place the frozen banana in first. This should take up just under half of the container.

Add the milk, I usually add just enough to cover the banana. (If it ends up being too thick for you, you can always loosen it later with a little more milk).

Add everything else and blend well.

If you make this with fresh banana instead of frozen you definitely want to add 4 or 5 ice cubes, and the consistency won’t be the same.

Frozen banana turns creamy and makes a gorgeous, silky smoothie.

Fresh banana kind of makes a foamy smoothie.

We keep a huge container of chopped frozen banana in the freezer. When it runs out, we don’t make this smoothie until it’s filled up again. 😄

It’s all about the frozen banana!
