Day 38

Sweet Nothing

I wish I had something fun to tell you that we did today.

Unfortunately, you’re looking at it.

Liam was away and I was working from home which meant these two were house bound.

We watched The Incredibles.

Then, we watched The Incredibles 2. 😂

I had a zoom meeting in the afternoon so I said they could have some Adventure Academy time, IF they did their chores.

Linc put a load of laundry on & Mila tidied her room (again).

I would like to say this load was pegged out & is now dry. But that would be a lie.

Linc Faded Fast

Not long after Linc did a white load, he faded really fast.

(He knows to separate laundry!! Watch out ladies, there’s a whole new generation of men growing up!)

He went all sad faced and floppy & complained of a sore tummy. 😥

I gave him some Panadol and he hopped into our bed & watched TV.

Mum & Dad’s bed ALWAYS makes it better. (Not for much longer I bet, but at 10 & a half, it’s still the best😍).

Awe, buddy. (And I made him do laundry!)

Nurse Mila

Apparently Mila knew exactly what to do.

“I think some chocolate brownies will make him better.” She says.

I was drowning in work & meetings with a sick boy on my hands and a warm brownie sounded good.

“I disagree, but make them anyway.” I replied.

We’ve been buying cook at home bakery treats in our weekly shop to encourage more cooking, so we always have something in the cupboard to cook.

Mila assures me, “They’re not lumps mama. They’re chunks of chocolate.”

Oh, & I was wrong. It did make him better. (For 5 minutes 😂). He crawled out of bed to help lick the bowl.

Purple Rain

On my lunch break, Mila & I left Lincy in bed watching TV and we took Pepe around the neighbourhood for a walk.

It’s so pretty this time of year.

Our whole town turn’s purple with Jacaranda trees.

Purple snow as Mila calls it.

Almost immediately after taking this picture, Pepe thought it it was a great spot to drop a cheeky poop! 😬 💩 (Which I dutifully collected, now that I’m a dog person. Ew).

San Choy Bow

We lazed the afternoon away. (Well, they did. I worked while answering their random questions, that fired fairly regularly).

Mila complained of being hungry. Without looking up I said, “Why don’t you make dinner.” Not at all serious.

AND SHE DID!!

What a legend.

She made San Choy Bow! One of our favourites.

I talked her through it while working & she made the whole thing.

She decided we needed to use the entire lettuce & she insisted we could fit it all in one bowl.

‘No lettuce leaf left behind!’

Blackfish

After dinner we finished watching the film Blackfish.

They were so empathetic towards the orca whales. It filled me with pride.

They were really happy to hear that in 2017, SeaWorld publicly announced they had ended their breeding program.

SeaWorld has ended its killer whale breeding program, making the orcas in our care the last generation. Our whales will continue to thrive under the best veterinary care for the remainder of their lives here. We’ve introduced an all-new orca experience, Orca Encounter, at SeaWorld San Diego. 8 June 2017

So, the kids are sound asleep in their beds, and I’ve finished writing early for a change, so it’s sofa time with my beautiful hubby who is back home again.
