Party Time!

Mila’s friend was celebrating her birthday today and so, the excitement started early. 🤩

By 8am we were at K-Mart buying a gift; a Squishmallow (of course!) and a couple of crafty things.

The boys were at home with Liam, watching Japanese cartons.

Liam dropped Lincs mate home and took Mila to her party. They were going ziplining & the boys were going to do the black course.

Lincoln’s too young for the black course, but in true Linc form he negotiated his way onto the climb. (He says he wants to be an engineer; we say barrister!)

Liam couldn’t get pics but, here’s Mila, just about to leap off the platform.

Afterwards, I took Pep for a run, and then headed out to see a client.

When I got home, Linc had gone to his mates for a play and Mila was in the kitchen making slime. 😩

So, I sat down to do some work. Our home school registration renewal is due and I’m filling out our outcomes for next year.

It’s so interesting to look at the outcomes!

When we were still attending school, you hear the terms stage 1, stage 2, stage 3 etc. but you never really know what that means, or what’s expected.

The most common thing I hear from homeschool mums, is their fear of their child falling behind.

If this is you, I recommend reading through the outcomes. It’s so reassuring!

Firstly, you have 2 years to achieve the outcomes for each stage.

Lincoln & Mila are in their first year for their stages and already know around 85% of the outcomes.

That’s how fast they learn from home!

SO FAST!!

If there’s something they don’t know you can easily look for a fun exercise that covers the topic and go over it with them.

Easy!

If you’re thinking of home schooling or even if your kids are in school, I totally recommend looking up the outcomes to see how your child is doing.

It’s peace of mind and you can manage any learning gaps, your child might have.

I know I keep banging on about it but honestly, Liam and I can’t believe we left such an important job up to other people to facilitate.

It’s so nice to coach your child. To see how they learn and where they need extra help.

It’s such a joy to watch them thrive!

I used to freak out in the beginning about learning outcomes, so I do get it.

But trust me, that feeling passes when you watch your child learn, every day.

A lot of you email to say you don’t think you could do it, but you’re wrong.

You can do it!

Home schooling is not the same as ‘learning from home’ which is what was happening during lock down.

It’s nothing like that.

Firstly, your homeschool will be unique to you and your family, and your children.

You have so much time to feel your way through it, and figure things out.

Let your children guide you and you can’t go wrong.
