Day 185
8th September 2022
Mama!
In contrast to yesterday’s wake up, today I woke to Mila calling, “Mama! Mama!”
When I got to her, she was curled up in a ball on her bed.
“My duvet fell off and I’m cold.” She whimpered.
“Huh?” I grunted scratching at my eyes.
“I’m not strong enough to lift it up.” She pleaded.

It was 6.30am, but I couldn’t get back to sleep after that.
My meeting cancelled and Liam was sick so, I pushed on with the morning.
History

We started with history.
Today we learnt about the Greek Alphabet.
Funnily enough, the dumb-dumb barbarians who defeated the Myceneans, & who couldn’t read or write, did learn to read and write.
With no more castles to burn and pillage, they began to farm, build houses and sure enough, they learnt to read and write.
The word alphabet, comes from the Greek letters A, alpha and B, beta.
We went to YouTube to investigate further and found this really catchy song the kids were singing most of the morning.
Enjoy!

We also looked at the phonetic alphabet and deciphered our names.
Mila – Mike, India, Lima, Alpha
Lincoln – Lima, India, November, Charlie, Oscar, Lima, November
Oil & Water
Today our Tinker Crate came, and Liam sat them down to open it up.
It was a lava lamp!!
A little chemistry lesson on molecules. Why do some molecules bond together, and others don’t? What’s an emulsifier and how does it work?
They built a density tower, layering different liquids on top of each other and watched the bubbles of the lava lamp go up and down.
Liam took the most beautiful pictures but they’re not uploading for some reason & my eyes are hanging out of my head. So, I gotta go to bed now. 🥱🥱.
Here’s a video he took.
Today was the complete opposite to yesterday.
I felt like I ran from thing, to thing, all day. 😩
It ended up with soccer training and a late bedtime of 8pm.
I’m absolutely shattered today.
With only 15 days of writing to go, I can’t believe how tired I am.
Or how big this project is!
I often think of Julie and wonder how on earth she cooked all those technical recipes, every night.
Every night!
My bed is calling.
Night. 😴
