Cocoon

When I woke this morning, Linc cut me off in the hallway for kisses and cuddles. 😍😍😍

Next Mila, and then the dog.

I should have known right then, that today was going to be special.

Liam had a late start and all 4 of us sat around for breakfast and the kids started their core learning, all on their own!

It’s been almost 1 year of home schooling and while we’ve had our ups and downs, lately we seem to have hit a spot so sweet it’s like living in a dream.

A little cocoon all to ourselves.

Dad helped Mila with Math’s and Lincoln began another writing essay this time on Patagonia. He’s not a fan of writing so I thought he’d give protest, but he didn’t. He just got on with it!

The Picnic

After our core, we met friends at one of our favourite spots in the bush.

We took snacks, things to draw and paint with & Mila brought her new pocketknife.

Our friends bought their puppy and we plonked ourselves right there in the middle of the bush and lazed around for 4 hours!!

It was gorgeous.

The kids stayed with us for a while and then ran off on adventures, down at the river. At once point they called to us from WAY UP high on the cliff top.

I was surprisingly cool, and I told them to stay there, so I could take their picture.

After what seemed like a month of Sundays we packed up and made our way home.

Basketball

We got home from the picnic with just enough time to change and pick up our basketball buddies, and then we off to the court.

We played the top team today and took a beating. 22 to 4.

Linc scored a basket from way outside the key, and it didn’t even touch the sides. It just swooshed into the net.

He looked over to us, and Liam and I both gave him 2 thumbs up. He put his head down & blushed. 😂

Afterwards, Dad played Linc and his buddy. He didn’t win. 😂

Then home for pesto pasta. 😋
