Day 161
5th August 2022
Well, Hello Winter!

Another balmy day in the middle of winter.
No complaints here!
I took my first client to look for stingrays down by the wharf, and this tree with a rope swing took me back to my teen years down at the river.
We’d spend hours and hours every weekend swimming in the river, launching off the embankment on the rope swing, paddling our canoe, eating junk food and listening to Big Audio Dynamite on tape cassette.
I wanted to climb up.
To remember.
But instead, I just took these pictures. 😒

Mila Time

It was finally time to go and get my girl!!
I jumped in the car and set off through the beautiful countryside.
Fast Car, by Tracy Chapman came on the radio, the window was down & the warm air kissed my skin.
Heaven.
You know you’re getting close to the farm when the hedges get epic!

As soon as I saw her, I only got a quick cuddle and then she ran off to the park with her friends.

We said our goodbyes and set off for home.
“Tell me everything! How was your night?” I burst.
“It was really fun. I slept in Zali’s room, and we got to have Bonnie in our room too.” She said seeming older somehow.
“Did you make pancakes for breakfast?” I went on.
“Yes. We dyed them.” Mila answered excitedly.
“You dyed them?” I asked.
“Yep. Mine were rainbow. We had all different colours.” She said.
“Did you sing happy birthday to Jim?” I asked. (It was the farmers birthday!)
“Yes! We all had to sing as a different animal. I was a moose. Indi was a sheep, Zali was a chipmunk & the boys were something too.” Mila was smiling and sitting up in her seat.
“I sang like this…”
She began singing in a loud moose voice.
Poor Jim! 😆
“We had sausages for dinner, and we had cheesecake, and we had one Tim-Tam each.
“Whoa!” I said. “It was a blowout!”
Meanwile…
We heard from the boys.
They made it safely to the snow & set up camp.
I’d like to say here they are in this pic,

only, they said its raining and their fire just went out. 😩😞
Their spirits were high though!
The kids were huddled up in bed together, and the Dad’s were boiling water for the hot water bottles.
Memories are being made. 😉
Tomorrow is only the beginning!
