Meet Buddy, the meercat! 🙂

It was Liam’s day to home school today which meant art class cranked up a notch.

Today’s lesson was mapping & proportion, and then building with layers.

Didn’t she do a great job!! I love it!

Liam did a quick sketch as he explained the concept, and then she just went for it.

After art, Mila made a cubby in her sun filled room and Liam and Linc drew a house plan for math’s.

Next, it was maths for Mila and then they took Pepe for a walk in the park & got a hot chocolate.

In the afternoon they did a little chemistry and made a ‘rock garden’.

The rocks are water soluble, metal salts.

When submerged in a solution of liquid sodium silicate and warm water, they react to form a layer of metal silicate get around the salt.

The layer inflates with water and as it gets larger, it thins out to create a hole and as the solution fills the space it creates a new metal silicate gel on top.

Or something.

Anyway, they loved it, it’s pretty cool.

When I got home Mila was on the sofa crying & hugging her teddy.

She was playing in the neighborhood and ran over a nail. 😧

Lincy was comforting her.

She fell into my arms & told me the story.

I ran her a bath and attempted to clean it, but she was hysterical and wouldn’t let me touch it.

Tomorrow, tetanus shot. 😞
