Day 137
9th June 2022
The Chariot

We had a birthday party to go to today.
It was at Flip Out and Lincoln & Mila were very excited!
I read from our history book while they ate breakfast.
Today we learnt about the importance of the chariot and how it revolutionised warfare & made Egypt the most powerful country in the world.
Looking at the frescoes we see the first chariots had wheels with 4 spokes, then later 8 spokes and finally they settled on 6 spokes.
Afterwards we watched a video of archaeologists working with Egyptian carpenters to recreate the chariots.
We were all impressed by the steam bending!
The carpenters steam the wood for up to 6 hours and then bend the wood in order to form the spokes & wheels.
If you’re keen to geek out on chariots, here’s the video. 🤓🤓🤓

Afterwards, they headed off to the party and I left for work.
I would love to show you lots of pictures of flipping, tumbling & diving into foam pits but I can’t as Liam took just 2 pictures!
When I asked him for the pictures he made this face, and I knew right away he had nothing.

It was well after they left the party that he realised his forgetfulness.
They were at a cafe, & so he made them pose for these pictures. 😂
They look so stoked!

So, I guess that’s it. 😂
Farm day tomorrow!!
