Day 135
7th June 2022
Morning!

Pep was too lazy to even get out of bed this morning! 😴😴😴
We all slept in & then ate breakfast on the sofa, while watching hilarious cat videos.
Yep, we were cat-video people today. 😳
The kids were in hysterics.
I had to agree. Some of them were very funny!
So recently, we banned the kids from having their computer time due to meltdowns and drama.
But today, I had an important phone appointment at 10am and I needed them to be quiet & calm.
When I told them they were having computer time at 10am they were jumping up and down with excitement.
“You have to do your core work first though.” I reiterated.
They threw their tiny arms around me & hugged like mad. It felt good.
They ran to the desk and grabbed their books.
Mila started with Math’s and Linc sat with me for English/Arts.
Today we learnt more about Rafael the painter and I gave him a spelling test, which he aced & was as smug as a Cheshire cat.
Linc moved on to Math’s and Mila sat with me for English/Arts where we reviewed the whole last chapter.
Then I gave her a spelling test and she also did very well! (Must be doing something right!)
I set them up with their computers and I left for my call.

African Folktale
After computer time, I made toasted sandwiches and we cuddled up for history.
Following on from yesterday, we learnt that ancient Africans didn’t carve their stories in stone like the Egyptians, instead stories were passed down from generation to generation.
Today we read the story of Anansi & Turtle.
It had a beautiful message and the kids understood it immediately.
Here it is below.

We spent the afternoon at a friend’s house watching the new Dumbledore movie.
It was so nice to sit around and drink tea while the kids hung out and did their thing.
Oh, and while we were gone, Pep dozed on the sofa and watched a doco on the Grand Canyon. 😎
