Day 122

19th May 2022

Density Tower

At 6.30am this morning, the kids were making a density tower from the science experiment book we loaned from the library.

You basically layer liquids of different density, and then balance objects on the different layers.

Yep, there was a hell of a mess, but they were so stoked with how they turned out they woke us up just to show us.

At 6.30am.

Yay! 😬

You can’t see very well but there’s a coin at the bottom, then a cherry tomato, I forget what they said was next and then Mila has a lid floating on the top of hers.

Pretty cool.

So, at 6.30am, we ticked off science. 😂

I got organised for work and left them for the day.

Liam said he put them to work with chores.

Mila went to gymnastics and Liam & Linc started work on the engineering build for our Mark Rober project.

We’ve changed from the ice-cream scoop saver to the peanut butter spinner. 😂

The peanut butter spinner aims to even out the oil that sits on top with the hard nut paste that forms at the bottom of the jar.

Cyanograph Art

After gym, they went to their art class.

Today they made cyanograph prints. This technique uses a slow-reactive printing formulation that’s sensitive to the ultra-violet & blue light spectrum.

There were also shenanigans with the barrels. Of course.

The most underrated toy in the world – the barrel! 😂

After work I took Linc to soccer training & Mila laid around watching TV.

Tomorrow, the farm!
