Day 110

3rd May 2022

Entrapment

This was me at 8.15am (minus the blindfold & buns of steel!).

Liam’s client cancelled this morning, and so we found ourselves in the middle of ‘family’ breakfast.

So nice!

Afterwards Liam left for a surf, and I left the kids to finish their core studies.

“When I get out of the shower, we have to leave so be ready ok?” I called.

When I came out, bag over my shoulder & ready to go, I was confronted.

“Wait mum! Wait! Close your eyes!” They both gasped.

Oh no. I thought. We have to leave; we’ll be late for the park! 😂😂😂

I’d like to say this was the first time this has happened, but it’s not. They did it once before when I arrived home with groceries (Dad was mowing the lawn & claims he knew nothing). 🤔

“It’s a challenge!!” They both shrieked jumping up and down.

“Oh wow!” I said in slow motion, realising we were going to be late for the park.

To ensure I couldn’t blow them off and save this game for later, they incorporated both sets of car keys into the challenge. 😩

Look closely above Mila’s left shoulder and you’ll see the keys.

Very clever & very cheeky!

(Yes, that is a mountain of laundry in the background, waiting patiently for me, 😒 next to the world’s biggest dog bed that we had to put on top of Mila’s old crib mattress since ripping up the carpet.😬 Poor Pepe and his thin skin & bones).

So, I tried my best with the laser game but apparently, I touched the ‘laser’.

More than once. 😲

In fairness, I was wearing a skirt!

The Park

Home school girl crew. 💗💗💗

They walked Pepe so hard, through the mini bike track, through the mist tunnels, and all around. He was so tired he just stopped walking & wouldn’t go anymore. 😂

Meanwhile, I enjoyed a good catch up with all the mamas.

We had birthday cake and the sun was a beautiful 25 deg. ☀️

Lazy Afternoon

When we got home, Dad was home for lunch, so we sat on the back step & had a cup of tea in the sun.

That sun is just glorious!! ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

Liam left again and I sat in the garden doing some work on the laptop and watched Mila’s latest gym routine.

The warm autumn breeze touched my skin. Pepe sat near me in the grass chewing his bone, the kids giggled and tumbled, and I got lost in a moment of bliss!

Ahh….If only we weren’t heading into winter. These days in the garden are numbered. (Not without an Oodie anyway).

After that, Mila baked lemon cupcakes and then went to a friend’s house for a play & Linc had a friend over.

Nice day.

Wish the kids would stop hanging off the trampoline net. Argh!!!

Nope, they didn’t rise or go golden but they were absolutely delicious.

She would have made more than six cupcakes, if the two of them were capable of keeping their fingers out of the bowl! 😂
