Day 100

4th April 2022

Rats

We figured out what was up with Pepe.

Rats were stealing his food!!

The poor boy was starving. 😢

Rats had gotten into his food tub in the laundry and that’s where I put his food out in the morning.

He usually has a stretch and rolls over and goes back to sleep and I assume he eats his breakfast later, but the rats have been eating it.

He was so hungry he was reverting back to a wolf!

He’s been his cuddly self now that his tummy is full.

Easter Basket

When I came out for breakfast the kids were busy making their easter egg hunt baskets.

I stressed that it had to be strong & sure enough, they were putting all sorts of things in there to weigh it down to see how much it could take.

Bush Walk

After Liam and the kids dropped me off at work, they went for a walk through the bush.

It’s so pretty out there!

Daddy of course, was on a mushroom hunt.

This looks like Turkey tail, but sadly it’s not. 😒 We’ll find it one of these days.

Stencil Art

We’ve had some thick black cardboard laying around for ages and so today, Liam thought they would do some stencil art.

The kids picked some ferns & other leaves from their walk to use as a stencil.

They each made a pattern and then using gold spray paint they sprayed over the leaves onto the black cardboard.

When they carefully removed the leaves, it left the most beautiful patterns.

This one looks like the leaves are pressed up against a window. I love it. 😍 We have so many things heading to the framer, it’s costing me a fortune!
Mila picked an orange off the true to use as the centre of the flower. The orange is now gold. 😂

After that Linc sat down and put together an all-terrain robot.

It was really complex, and he focused on this for 3 hours!!

Mila floated around from the trampoline to her room, then made some lunch and generally faffed around.

This is a big project. He’ll probably be working on this tomorrow as well.

Family Dinner

My sister is here from QLD and so we had a big family dinner and an early easter egg hunt.

I thought the kids were going to explode with excitement!!

When they picked me up from work Mila had her easter hunt basket on her head. 😂

The bounty!
Nana always makes it a 3-legged egg hunt. So, taking pictures is tricky because they’re always falling over!

On a side note, we‘re up to DAY 100 on the blog!!!

We’re halfway through our challenge.

Yeh!!

Some nights are hard. I’m tired and I don’t want to write. Well, I do but I also want to go to bed. 😴

I can’t wait to have a book about our year together. Such a treasure.

We’ve always given our kids the choice to home school or not and today was the first time they both said they want to continue home-schooling next year!!

SO GOOD!!

We really want this for them. They’re learning so much.

And all the while not being teased, stressed, controlled, bored, compared and measured.

For now though, day light savings has my eyeballs falling out of my head and I’ve got to go to bed.

Can’t wait for the sleep in tomorrow!
