Day 99

1st April 2022

Woof Woof

One of my favourite pictures.

This morning I woke to the sound of Pepe barking over and over.

I threw off the covers and ran out into the lounge room.

Poor Linc was cowering on the sofa in tears while Pepe was standing over him barking. 😦

Linc said he didn’t do anything.

He got up, opened Pepe’s pen and then opened the back door so Pepe could go out for a wee and then he hopped on the sofa under a blanket and Pepe started pulling at the blanket and barking and growling at Linc.

Then later in the day Liam was patting Pepe and he bit Liam?? (Not hard, but still!)

We don’t know what’s going on. He hasn’t been out for a run in a few days because of the rain, maybe he just has a lot of energy?

Maybe he’s hurt?

Rehabilitating a racing dog is not like getting a regular dog.

He has no idea he is a pet. He’s never lived inside. Never been pat and cuddled all day. Never been part of a ‘pack’.

He must feel like he’s on another planet.

They take a long time to build trust. We thought we had broken new ground with him. 😒

He comes when we call him now, even at the dog park when there are loads of other dogs around!

He always runs to the door to greet us and loves his pats.

I don’t know what’s going on. 😒😒😒

Daily Core

Lincoln surprised us again this morning by starting his core learning at 7am.

By the time I left for work he had completed handwriting, English/Arts, reading & had begun Math’s!

Mila was clicking the textas together to make a gun. 😂

Linc had his computer time early, cyber playing with a friend and Liam put Mila to work.

First up, was yoga spelling. 😂

Then, a lesson from her English/Arts book.

When they finished their learning, they went looking for bargains at the op shop. (Mila’s favourite!)

Then for a haircut and then off for play dates.

After work we took Pepe for a run. We thought it might solve this little hiccup he’s having.

It was a dog party!! There must have been 25-30 dogs at the oval.

Pepe ran his heart out, to the delight of the crowd.

He is so fast!

He ran and ran and ran.

He’s passed out now in front of me as I type this.

Our plan is to take him for dog training. [sigh]

For now, it’s the weekend and my sister arrives tonight from Queensland!!

Yippee!!!
