Day 84

11th March 2022

Landslide

Actual landslide we drove past. There were cracks in the road! Only one lane was open. (This is not our picture though).

Today was a bit of a write-off.

I’d planned to drive the kids to the farm & work from a cafe because Liams still sick, but that didn’t really happen.

We set off, made it over the first mountain and then were turned back at the next mountain due to a landslide.

It would have been another hour and a half from where we were to go all the way back and then around the long way. We’d already been in the car for an hour.

We decided it was too late to keep going. We were too far away. We were going to miss our favourite day of the week.

We went home. 😒

I would have thought with 2 sunny days things would have dried out a little. Apparently not.

There are still multiple landslides and we saw some dodgy looking bits of road with cracks in the bitumen.😲

As soon as we decided to head home the lunch boxes flew open and they feasted! (They literally ate breakfast 60 minutes beforehand?)

When we got home. I logged on to work and they did some coding on the laptop and then played some Math’s games.

They wanted to do the recycling so they could buy some strawberry milk with their money, 😂 & so we did that on my lunch break and then um, I think they went outside to play on the tramp.

Not a lot went on today.

Mila took some pictures while we were driving, I’ll leave them below.

I’m going to get an early night and check on Liam.

See you after the weekend. 🌻

There was an enormous cloud floating through the valley like a giant blimp. It was so beautiful.
Eeeek!!
Strawberry milk time. Thanks for the bottles nan!
Oh, and they did their folding. 😂 Not quite the day they were expecting.
