Day 79
4th March 2022
Farm School!

Farm School! Farm School!
Today was exciting for two reasons.
Firstly, it stopped raining long enough for me to mow the lawn. 😂 (The front at least).
Second, Dad went to farm school today!!
The kids were so excited!
They started with morning circle.
“We had an acceptance of disappointment hatchet ceremony.” Lincoln said.
“Oh. What’s that?” I asked curiously.
“It was for the new kids plus Mila and I because we missed out last term.” Linc continued.
“We had to hold the hatchet & say that we accept disappointment.” Mila said.
“The hatchet means that we’re trusted.” Lincoln explained.
“They accept disappointment as part of the day.” Liam explained.
“Yeh, because we decide everything together and sometimes your choice isn’t voted on.” Mila continued.
“So, what happened first?” I asked.
“We played some wet Mississippi!” Said Mila. “With Jade!” (Mila LOVES Jade, the helper).
“Dad and I forged!” Exclaimed Linc.

“We went hunting today mum, with real cross bows!” Linc said sounding impressed.
“Really?” I asked.
“Yep. First, we had to practice archery with frisbees, and I hit it twice!!” He said proudly.
“No way?” I teased.
“Then we hid in the trees and waited for rabbits.” He continued.
“I was with Dad feeding the cows.” Mila added.
“Did you catch any rabbits?” I asked, hoping for a no.
“No, we didn’t get any. Jim was close thought.” Said Linc.
“Zali & I carried chickens under our jumpers.” Mila said excitedly.
“We always carry the chickens.” She continued.

“Oh, and we had the best hot chocolate today!” Linc said.
“Yum, did you make it?” I asked.
“No Jade made it. She does all the cooking.” Mila said.
“I liked that it wasn’t too sweet. It was kind of salty. It had Milo in it and dairy milk.” Lincoln said.
“After the hot chocolate we went to see a waterfall.” Mila said.
“Oh, did you see one or just go looking.” I asked. (Their waterfall experience has been patchy. 😂)
“We saw one.” Said Lincoln. “It was a double waterfall!”

On the way home they went to look at the surf. We’ve seen pictures of foamy waves from all the rain and flooding, but they had to see for themselves.

They had such a wonderful day and it was nice to have a break from the rain.
They were shattered when they came home.
I fed them mamas famous creamy pasta and they went straight to sleep!
