Go Mila Girl!!!

It’s school holidays!

That crept up quickly.

Tomorrow, we’ll take a break and continue with cooking and I’ll post the recipes here.

For now though, let me quickly tell you how much fun our girl had at her birthday party.

Most importantly, Mila won limbo!!

She’s won before but was worried she’d grown too much to win this year.

Nope.

Our rubber girl can get down low. 😂

She was SO excited!!

Her friends cheered, and she won a free slushy at the snack bar. (It was bright blue!🙄)

Linc came a close second with a technique where he throws one leg out to the side. 😂

Liam’s a total skate legend and was jumping backwards and forwards, then back again.

He taught Mila this cool criss cross trick.

I tried it and almost face planted the hard floor. I thought I better save my poor jaw the re-break and stick to regular style, mum skating. 😳

Just cruising in my skates. And yes, she is wearing the top!!! 4th day in a row! 😬😬😬

Here’s Dad doing his thing.

We played lots of skate games, we fell down a lot, we laughed, we had hot dogs and sausages (Mila’s request) and when we dropped everyone home and walked in our front door, Liam & I collapsed on the sofa. 😂

We made tea and watched Mila open her gifts.

She was given beautiful things and is officially the happiest 9-year-old alive.

Happy holidays! x

Internet safety, it’s a thing. Unless you have permission, you must blur. It’s late & I’m too tired to message parents and so I shall blur! Here we are in the party room cutting the boot!

This blog was inspired by the film Julie & Julia, starring Meryl Streep & Amy Adams.

Julie decides she will take her love of cooking to the next level by cooking every recipe in Julia Childs French cookbook, in one year! 500 & something fancy, technical recipes!! While working full time!

Julie writes a daily blog about her time in the kitchen for herself & other amateur cooks who may, or may not be, reading along. You gotta watch it (http://thehomeschoolyear.com/about/).  Or read it here. (http://thehomeschoolyear.com/book)

I loved that she wrote every day. I loved hearing about her small everyday frustrations, with the recipes & with life. It really inspired me to throw myself into something.

The timing was perfect as we have just decided to homeschool our children as a lifestyle choice and I thought…Cool! A daily blog will be perfect!

There must be other families out there wondering if there’s another way to live? Another way to do ‘family life’?

If you’re here, then hello & welcome aboard! Please feel free to sit back & watch it all unfold. Put the kettle on & check in with us each night to see what went down and how we all got over the line. I’m sure we’ll find our rhythm, right?

Are you a homeschool family? If you’re watching the wheels fall off this thing, I’m open to your emails or comments any time. I would love them! I am very friendly, & I could use the help.

Ok, come hell or high water….I’m in. A daily blog, for 12 months. I’ll be right, here.

Kindly, Lisa x

Can we be friends?!
