The Girls

The excitement that had been building all week reached fever pitch, when 3 little girls got together for a hotel overnighter, in a new city! 😍😍😍

This post probably won’t do a lot for feminism because yes, we jumped on beds, we braided hair, we painted nails, we had bubble baths (so many!) ate lots of chocolate, and for reasons unknown, giggled louder and higher than ever before.

After jumping on beds, we hit the pool.

There was an endless stack of freshly folded towels, and a row of cabanas for hanging out.

A solar heated pool, with a little sun trap, all to ourselves!

Winter, we forgive you!

We ran through the corridors to the lift, dripping & giggling all the way to our room where we took bath number one.

I thought it was a good time to bust out the strawberries and the decadence began.

They all sat in the bath eating strawberries and gabbed on, like fully grown women.

So much to say! πŸ˜‚

We settled in, & I was tasked to braid everyone’s hair for dinner.

I’m not great at braiding but I gotta say, this is my best yet!

We did our nails, watched some TV, tried on many outfits and then finally, it was time for dinner.

They’d been so excited for Teppanyaki & couldn’t wait to go.

We passed a banner and couldn’t resist the photo opp.

I didn’t prep them at all. They just did this! πŸ˜‚

Girls on the town!

Teppanyaki was so fun!!!

If your kids haven’t been, definitely take them!

There were lots of families, lots of squeals and laugher, & lots of eggs going splat.

All together I think we dropped 4 eggs. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

One dripped down into Mila’s shoe!

She was such a good sport about it.

We laughed until we cried. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

The big fire was a huge hit!!

With full tummies and a huge doggy bag for Pepe, we went looking for gelato.

The girls negotiated a double scoop during dinner, and they were literally drunk with excitement.

They were on such a high, linking arms and laughing all the way there.

There must be something about a group of little girls that puts people under a spell, because everywhere we went, people smiled at them and said yes to everything they asked for!

The night belonged to them. 🀩

The lady at the ice-cream shop gave me a wink & added lollies to their scoops.

The girls squealed & started jumping up and down.

They literally couldn’t take it! πŸ˜‚

Their little faces say it all! 😍😍😍

It went a little quieter for about 10 minutes. πŸ˜„

We made it back to the hotel, washed up for bed and after more jumping on the bed they settled down to a movie and fell asleep. 😴

The next morning, they wanted to use the gym first, (in their pajamas) and then it was downstairs for breakfast (in their pajamas) and again, everyone stared and smiled at the 3 little girls, & their cuteness overload.

The chef kindly adapted the menu when the girls requested waffles, giving them a smile & a thumbs up.

We organised a late check out so, afterwards, we played games in the room and then spent the afternoon in the pool, catching the last of the sun.

They were so delightful. It really was the best weekend ever!!

This is how we rolled into a full restaurant for breakfast. I mean really, who could refuse?

I was going to write about the boy’s weekend but I’ve run out of time.

More on the boys’ adventures tomorrow night.

For now, I’ll leave you with this. x

This blog was inspired by the film Julie & Julia, starring Meryl Streep & Amy Adams.

Julie decides she will take her love of cooking to the next level by cooking every recipe in Julia Childs French cookbook, in one year! 500 & something fancy, technical recipes!! While working full time!

Julie writes a daily blog about her time in the kitchen for herself & other amateur cooks who may, or may not be, reading along. You gotta watch it (http://thehomeschoolyear.com/about/).  Or read it here. (http://thehomeschoolyear.com/book)

I loved that she wrote every day. I loved hearing about her small everyday frustrations, with the recipes & with life. It really inspired me to throw myself into something.

The timing was perfect as we have just decided to homeschool our children as a lifestyle choice and I thought…Cool! A daily blog will be perfect!

There must be other families out there wondering if there’s another way to live? Another way to do ‘family life’?

If you’re here, then hello & welcome aboard! Please feel free to sit back & watch it all unfold. Put the kettle on & check in with us each night to see what went down and how we all got over the line. I’m sure we’ll find our rhythm, right?

Are you a homeschool family? If you’re watching the wheels fall off this thing, I’m open to your emails or comments any time. I would love them! I am very friendly, & I could use the help.

Ok, come hell or high water….I’m in. A daily blog, for 12 months. I’ll be right, here.

Kindly, Lisa x

Can we be friends?!
