Day 160

4th August 2022

SNOW!

Here, is one stocked little dude!

He is so excited about the snow this weekend!! ❄️❄️❄️☃️

Liam & Linc went round to a friends place to try on all their snow gear, & the excitement is high!

Today was all about packing, shopping & getting ready. (Again😆)

Oh, did I mention they’re camping!!

Yes, camping. In a tent!

Our mate is a champion at it. I called around their earlier and I gotta say, his packing was impressive.

I can’t wait to hear how they go in the cold.

One thing’s for sure, Lincoln will never forget the time his Dad took him camping to the snow! 😂

So much fun!!!! 🏂🏂🏂

Lego

Right after gymnastics this morning, Mila went straight back to the place she’s been sitting for the last 48 hours; on the floor building Lego.

She is loving her Lego at the moment!

After work, I collected Mila and drove her to her very first sleepover.

She was so excited she could barely breath.

I bought her a bag of goodies to share, and she ran off with the girls the minute we arrived, and started planning where they would all sleep. 😍😍😍

I hugged her so tight. Her hair smelt like shampoo and her cheeks were pink & warm.

I tried to be cool about it.

😩😩😩

Mila, I miss you!!!

When I got home, I got a txt from Liam that Linc was still at our friends house and wants a sleepover.

2 sleepovers on the same night!! 😧

Lincolns never had a sleepover either.

Am I the strict mum who doesn’t let her kids do anything? 🙄

They just seem so little!!

Anyway, (sigh) this is where we’ve come to.

Both our babies are old enough for sleepovers & the house is as quiet as a tomb.

Hmpf.

Night. x

This blog was inspired by the film Julie & Julia, starring Meryl Streep & Amy Adams.

Julie decides she will take her love of cooking to the next level by cooking every recipe in Julia Childs French cookbook, in one year! 500 & something fancy, technical recipes!! While working full time!

Julie writes a daily blog about her time in the kitchen for herself & other amateur cooks who may, or may not be, reading along. You gotta watch it (http://thehomeschoolyear.com/about/).  Or read it here. (http://thehomeschoolyear.com/book)

I loved that she wrote every day. I loved hearing about her small everyday frustrations, with the recipes & with life. It really inspired me to throw myself into something.

The timing was perfect as we have just decided to homeschool our children as a lifestyle choice and I thought…Cool! A daily blog will be perfect!

There must be other families out there wondering if there’s another way to live? Another way to do ‘family life’?

If you’re here, then hello & welcome aboard! Please feel free to sit back & watch it all unfold. Put the kettle on & check in with us each night to see what went down and how we all got over the line. I’m sure we’ll find our rhythm, right?

Are you a homeschool family? If you’re watching the wheels fall off this thing, I’m open to your emails or comments any time. I would love them! I am very friendly, & I could use the help.

Ok, come hell or high water….I’m in. A daily blog, for 12 months. I’ll be right, here.

Kindly, Lisa x

Can we be friends?!
