Day 153

GORILLAZ!!

Last night we saw the Gorillaz!!

They were SO GOOD!

Although, the venue was ultra-boring. No restaurants or bars, just a few awful food windows selling cold pre prepped French fries and dry burgers, along with a few cheap cafeteria style tables & chairs.

Not like the O2 Arena in London, where the venue is a huge doughnut shape, filled with really bars and restuarants.

When we saw Chili Peppers at O2, we arrived early, spent a cpl of hours at dinner with friends, then saw the show.

This venue felt more like airport security.

Anyway, we were herded through metal detectors by security who were bellowing instructions, then more bellowing to find the door on our ticket, and then boom, show time.

It was a bit of a buzz kill.

Alright, enough moaning about that!

Damon Alban was amazing & bought lots of other artists on tour.

I forgot about the energy of a BIG crowd!

Wow!!

Although it’s been 2 years of lockdowns and social distancing, being there with 21K people, all singing together & roaring with applause, was the first time I felt like I’d been cooped up.

The feeling was electric.

The crew; Brayden, Liam, me & Christian.

I still remember hearing the song Clint Eastwood for the first time, and being blown away.

I was 25.

The sound was so new and the edgy animation was cool. And you never saw the band. Who where these guys?!

So much mystery and such awesome music!

I didn’t think they’d play that song because it’s so old & was overplayed back in the day but then….

they played it during the encore!!

Feel Good Inc.

We had a full car of mates. We played Gorillaz on the drive up & were buzzing with anticipation!

It took me back to my youth.

INXS X was my first concert. Then Prince. Then Prince again (remember Sal?) Then Vanila Ice at the Hordon. 😂 Maybe I should stop talking! 😂😂😂

The kids love Gorillaz and both asked if they could go.

When I collected them from mum’s this morning, there was only one word out of their mouths.

Merch!! 😬😬😬

They both wanted t-shirts.

(The merch line was LONG and they didn’t have kids’ sizes).

“Um, the line was too long. Do you guys want a hot chocolate?”

Merch was forgotten.

Food distraction for the win! 😎

This blog was inspired by the film Julie & Julia, starring Meryl Streep & Amy Adams.

Julie decides she will take her love of cooking to the next level by cooking every recipe in Julia Childs French cookbook, in one year! 500 & something fancy, technical recipes!! While working full time!

Julie writes a daily blog about her time in the kitchen for herself & other amateur cooks who may, or may not be, reading along. You gotta watch it (http://thehomeschoolyear.com/about/).  Or read it here. (http://thehomeschoolyear.com/book)

I loved that she wrote every day. I loved hearing about her small everyday frustrations, with the recipes & with life. It really inspired me to throw myself into something.

The timing was perfect as we have just decided to homeschool our children as a lifestyle choice and I thought…Cool! A daily blog will be perfect!

There must be other families out there wondering if there’s another way to live? Another way to do ‘family life’?

If you’re here, then hello & welcome aboard! Please feel free to sit back & watch it all unfold. Put the kettle on & check in with us each night to see what went down and how we all got over the line. I’m sure we’ll find our rhythm, right?

Are you a homeschool family? If you’re watching the wheels fall off this thing, I’m open to your emails or comments any time. I would love them! I am very friendly, & I could use the help.

Ok, come hell or high water….I’m in. A daily blog, for 12 months. I’ll be right, here.

Kindly, Lisa x

Can we be friends?!
