Day 141

16th June 2022

Rainbows

Well, good morning gorgeous! 🌈

We woke to this beautiful rainbow this morning.

The light seemed to be shining just for us.

Last night we took Pepe out for a walk before bedtime & the super moon was still being super, and we captured this photo, with its beaming ring.

It was so beautiful!

Looking up is one of my favourite things to do. 😍😍😍

So, I set the kids up with English & and headed out the door to work.

Dad took over from there.

I had booked him an appointment to get his passport, and then after that they went to gymnastics.

Mila is currently learning to do a backflip & she can’t learn it fast enough.

She wants to be able to do flips on the beam right now! πŸ˜‚

She also got to work on the uneven bars and leapt from the bottom to the top. Exciting!!

Meanwhile Liam and Linc went to the basketball court, to shoot some hoops.

Linc is all about basketball at the moment. He starts next term.

We ran into some home-schooled mates (both aged 15 which is very exciting to a 10-year-old!) and they played 2 against 2.

It was a close game that came to a draw.

A draw!!

Linc was stoked.

Look at him go!
Rainbow shoes, rainbow socks & gym gear. Happiest girl alive. πŸ™‚
He couldn’t resist. πŸ˜‚

Seeing as it was a Dad day….hot chips came next. πŸ™„

When they came home Linc read some more of his book and Mila caught up on her computer time that she missed in the morning and then they hit the tools.

Mila and I went out to grab some groceries and when we came home there was a surprise visitor at our house!

A dear friend found a solution to our problem which is Mila’s refusal to change her stripy top, & delivered a NEW STRIPY TOP gift wrapped and all!

Mila was so excited!!

She began telling our friend how she’d dug hers out of the laundry basket and how grungy & stinky it was. πŸ™„

“Now you have a second one!” I said to her.

Look how clean it is!! I forgot the stripes were white. I thought they were beige!

I think you can guess what she’ll be wearing tomorrow. 😏😎

What a thoughtful thing to do. We πŸ’—you Katrina!

After his shower Linc ran out asking what number a buzz cut was, and I knew what was coming next.

He wanted to shave his head again.

I admit, it’s getting boofy & needs a tidy up but after last time, I was nervous.

I didn’t have long to feel this way because Liam was so up for it.

He picked up his wine and headed to the bathroom with a stupid grin on his face.

Linc gave me the same smile as they passed.

“Hey mum, come and see!” Linc teased me, anticipating my reaction to the mullet. 😧😧😧
My handsome boy. 😍😍😍

Farm day tomorrow. x

This blog was inspired by the film Julie & Julia, starring Meryl Streep & Amy Adams.

Julie decides she will take her love of cooking to the next level by cooking every recipe in Julia Childs French cookbook, in one year! 500 & something fancy, technical recipes!! While working full time!

Julie writes a daily blog about her time in the kitchen for herself & other amateur cooks who may, or may not be, reading along. You gotta watch it (http://thehomeschoolyear.com/about/).  Or read it here. (http://thehomeschoolyear.com/book)

I loved that she wrote every day. I loved hearing about her small everyday frustrations, with the recipes & with life. It really inspired me to throw myself into something.

The timing was perfect as we have just decided to homeschool our children as a lifestyle choice and I thought…Cool! A daily blog will be perfect!

There must be other families out there wondering if there’s another way to live? Another way to do ‘family life’?

If you’re here, then hello & welcome aboard! Please feel free to sit back & watch it all unfold. Put the kettle on & check in with us each night to see what went down and how we all got over the line. I’m sure we’ll find our rhythm, right?

Are you a homeschool family? If you’re watching the wheels fall off this thing, I’m open to your emails or comments any time. I would love them! I am very friendly, & I could use the help.

Ok, come hell or high water….I’m in. A daily blog, for 12 months. I’ll be right, here.

Kindly, Lisa x

Can we be friends?!
