Day 181

2nd September 2022

Homeschool Dreams

Mila’s new learning space!

There are over 350 home school families in our area.

Which means hundreds of passionate, hands-on parents. Today, we heard something cool is happening.

A handful of women have gotten together, hired a Montessori trained educator, found a beautiful property to work from, erected a geode tent and are taking enrolments for learning days.

We are so excited to be sending our girl here,1 day each week! 😍😍

Each morning 10 children will gather here for an hour and a half of dedicated learning and then continue learning outside, with nature.

Mila is so excited!!!

Linc won’t go. He & Dad plan to do man stuff, one on one. πŸ‘ŠπŸ»

Farm Day

“I rode a goat today!” Lincoln slurred, as he fell into sleep.

He went from the farm straight to a friend’s place and didn’t get home until after bedtime.

By the time I had a minute alone with him, he was so tired, this is all the info I got. πŸ˜‚

Looks like Mila rode a goat too. πŸ˜ƒ

Katana sword fights, in the chorale. A firm favourite. 🀺

Mila was excited to make brownies today.

Lately, she asks me to buy a cake mix of some sort to bake at the farm.

I love that they use the oven.

Foam swords on the tramp. Yeh!! βš”οΈ

I love this picture. Linc would be absolutely loving this game.

Among Us

Among Us, is a computer game (I think), only this is a home-school, farm variation. πŸ˜†

Above, are all the things you need to do in order to complete Among Us. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Usually, I get so much info on the farm.

While Linc was at a friend’s place, we didn’t catch up with Mila about the day, because we were all too busy looking at CARAVANS!!!

We’re buying a caravan!

Here’s a pic of one we’re going to see tomorrow. Eeeek!! Dying to hit the open road.

Sport tomorrow, although it’s supposed to rain.

Hmmm, will we get to sleep in or not to sleep in, that is the question!

The Challenge: Home school for 1 year while not losing sanity or love for children and/or husband.
Contenders: Mila 8yrs, Lincoln 10 yrs, Me (Mum), Liam (Dad), Pepe (dog)
Home School Days: 200

This blog was inspired by the film Julie & Julia, starring Meryl Streep & Amy Adams.

Julie decides she will take her love of cooking to the next level by cooking every recipe in Julia Childs French cookbook, in one year! 500 & something fancy, technical recipes!! While working full time!

Julie writes a daily blog about her time in the kitchen for herself & other amateur cooks who may, or may not be, reading along. You gotta watch it (http://thehomeschoolyear.com/about/).  Or read it here. (http://thehomeschoolyear.com/book)

I loved that she wrote every day. I loved hearing about her small everyday frustrations, with the recipes & with life. It really inspired me to throw myself into something.

The timing was perfect as we have just decided to homeschool our children as a lifestyle choice and I thought…Cool! A daily blog will be perfect!

There must be other families out there wondering if there’s another way to live? Another way to do ‘family life’?

If you’re here, then hello & welcome aboard! Please feel free to sit back & watch it all unfold. Put the kettle on & check in with us each night to see what went down and how we all got over the line. I’m sure we’ll find our rhythm, right?

Are you a homeschool family? If you’re watching the wheels fall off this thing, I’m open to your emails or comments any time. I would love them! I am very friendly, & I could use the help.

Ok, come hell or high water….I’m in. A daily blog, for 12 months. I’ll be right, here.

Kindly, Lisa x

Can we be friends?!
