Day 148

Cookie/Ice-Cream Sandwich!

Hello!! 🙋🏻‍♀️

So, so sorry for not posting recipes during the holidays. It’s because we kept making our tried-and-true favourites and I’ve already posted them! 😬

Really need to branch out.

BUT,

I will divulge this little junk food quick fix, that is almost certainly a shortcut to diabetes and wobbly bits.

Ready,

the cookie/ice cream sandwich!!

The very worst part is there are 8 cookies in a packet and at least 8 scoops of ice cream in a tub so one does have to be careful with this one.

The sandwich pictured above was delectable and I don’t regret a thing!

Holiday Update

We had a tonne of fun in the holidays!!

Mila had $6.50 left of pocket money and asked if she could have a fish.

“Sure!” Says Dad.

$75 later, we welcomed these guys.

Sienna, Sunny, Doom & Luufy.

Here’s our ‘Where’s Wally’ of fish tanks. You’re looking for 2 gold ones and 2 dark ones with red tails. 😂

Mila went to a 2-day drama work shop and loved it so much, she’s now begun drama.

Linc went to design workshop where they designed a cookie cutter on Tinker Cad and then printed it out with a 3D printer.

This little cookie cutter will take 2 hours to print!

He chose a block fruit, which is from a TV show he’s watching. It’s actually quite intricate and beautiful.

Cookies & pics later in the week.

They both went to a palette painting workshop, which they loved.

Linc painted a parrot and Mila an owl chick.

Linc got his first leather jacket, compliments of his cousin, & is super stoked on it. 😎

We made brownies.

This recipe is Liam’s great grans and yes, I will share it in the recipe section. They’re the best ever!

Uncle Muz had a birthday and Linc made him a 2-layer cake with jam & cream. and wowed everyone at lunch. (He made an absolute hell of a mess!)

Mila & I had a girl’s overnighter in the city after her specialist appointment. Our friends have 2 girls and the 3 of them were giggle, giggle, giggle all night long.

Linc met his mates and they cruised around town in the sun while us mama’s ambled along behind with coffee.

The boyz!!

We had lots and lots of playdates and ate lots of pancakes!

I think that’s about it. Term 3, let’s do it!!

See you tomorrow. x

This blog was inspired by the film Julie & Julia, starring Meryl Streep & Amy Adams.

Julie decides she will take her love of cooking to the next level by cooking every recipe in Julia Childs French cookbook, in one year! 500 & something fancy, technical recipes!! While working full time!

Julie writes a daily blog about her time in the kitchen for herself & other amateur cooks who may, or may not be, reading along. You gotta watch it (http://thehomeschoolyear.com/about/).  Or read it here. (http://thehomeschoolyear.com/book)

I loved that she wrote every day. I loved hearing about her small everyday frustrations, with the recipes & with life. It really inspired me to throw myself into something.

The timing was perfect as we have just decided to homeschool our children as a lifestyle choice and I thought…Cool! A daily blog will be perfect!

There must be other families out there wondering if there’s another way to live? Another way to do ‘family life’?

If you’re here, then hello & welcome aboard! Please feel free to sit back & watch it all unfold. Put the kettle on & check in with us each night to see what went down and how we all got over the line. I’m sure we’ll find our rhythm, right?

Are you a homeschool family? If you’re watching the wheels fall off this thing, I’m open to your emails or comments any time. I would love them! I am very friendly, & I could use the help.

Ok, come hell or high water….I’m in. A daily blog, for 12 months. I’ll be right, here.

Kindly, Lisa x

Can we be friends?!
