Day 138

10th June 2022

Farm Day

“How was the day?!” I asked excitedly.

“It was fun!” Mila cried.

“We’re building a Hobbit hole.” Lincoln said.

“Huh?” I grunted like an oaf, suddenly realising they probably get this from me! 😳

“We’re digging a fort in the dirt. It’s going to have a door.” He clarified.

“Oh wow, that’s so cool!” I said.

“Did you make brownies for Indi’s birthday?” I asked.

“Yes! They were so yummy.” They both replied.

“There’s actually a girl club, at the farm.” Mila confessed.

“Really. Who’s in the girl club?” I asked.

“Indi, Zali, me and Maddie if she comes back, and Daddy.” She continued.

“Daddy?” I questioned.

“Yes, Daddy!” She giggled.

Meanwhile, Daddy was off foraging in a nearby forest.

I didn’t get much more out of them because they kissed me quick & ran out the door to a friend’s place, & didn’t come back until bedtime.

No sport tomorrow because of the long weekend.

Sleep in!!!

I loved that she wrote every day. I loved hearing about her small everyday frustrations, with the recipes & with life. It really inspired me to throw myself into something.

The timing was perfect as we have just decided to homeschool our children as a lifestyle choice and I thought…Cool! A daily blog will be perfect!

There must be other families out there wondering if there’s another way to live? Another way to do ‘family life’?
